Mammootty did a line of good movies recently like loudspeaker, pazhassiraja, drona and pokkiriraja. All these were super hits in the box office. His next releases include the most awaited ‘Vande matharam’ where Mammootty is in the lead role together with Sneha. Yes, they are acting in the same film in lead roles for the first time.

Charmi‘s most notable and critically acclaimed film so far is Anukokunda Oka Roju. It was a heroine-oriented thriller and had her playing the lead in it. Her performance in the movie was acclaimed by critics. Her performance in Pournami was well appreciated, but the film was a flop. Though she did not learn south Indian classical dances, her Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi dances in the film were appreciated by audiences.

Later in the year 2006 she was paired for the second time with Sumanth in Chinnodu  but it was not a successful venture. Her next film, Rakhi (with NTR), was a hit. In 2007 Mantra, a thriller with Charmi in the lead role, was declared as a surprise hit.This performance fetched her the Nandi Award for the best herione of 2007. She also won the Santosham Best Actress Award for Anukokunda Oka Roju.

Three of Charmi‘s films, Style, Lakshmi, and Chukkallo Chandrudu, released in a period of 3 days. However, only Lakshmi and Style became hits. She was approached to do the item song in Stalin, but declined it as she was committed to other films. The chance later went on to Anushka Shetty. Charmi Kaur (Charmy) is an Indian film actress who was born in Mumbai (on 17 May 1987) who has predominantly appeared in Telugu films and her family is of Punjabi background. Charmi was only 14 years old when she acted in her first film, Nee Thodu Kaavali (Telugu, 2002). This film was a big flop, but helped Charmi get noticed by the south Indian film industry. Her next film was Kadal Azhavatillai (Tamil) which was also a flop. During this time she acted in a Malayalam film directed by Vinayan named Kattuchembakam. This film also bombed in box office. After that she acted in a couple more Tamil films but they bombed at the box office.

Her re-entry to Telugu movies happened with Sri Anjaneyam, directed by ace director Krishna Vamsi. This too was a failed attempt. It was followed by another failure with Chanti, paired against Ravi Teja. Charmi finally got a big break in Telugu with Gowri in which she paired with Sumanth. She didn’t have to look back afterwards. The success of Mass with Nagarjuna strengthened her position in Tollywood.
